Just had a look at the drawings I put in my scraps a while back and, well, what mishmash of attempted drawing! hahah. Let me explain: I've realised that the beauty of art doesnt lie in trying to draw within predefined, accurate proportions (i.e. like me, someone who's tying to learn and so draws to the 'laws of proportion' and you end up with a dull, generic drawing).
I've realised (through looking at other people's artwork) that the imagination of the artist is far more important, and, more to the point, really seems to come through in the artwork. A quick line or so for the nose of a face doesnt loose detail when the picture as a whole has been drawn so well
Anyway, I've tanned a bottle of wine and it's time for sleep, maybe tomorrow I will draw more imaginatively and with less constraint.
Cheers!
